Icy road conditions are believed to have factored in a Gainesville crash that jammed Thursday's morning commute.
Georgia State Patrol reports the Kia K5 car driven by David Thomas Hart of Gainesville allegedly slid into a Gainesville City Fire Department vehicle along the bridge on Thompson Bridge Road northbound, just after 7:00 a.m.
Hart told investigators that he attempted to pump the brakes of his car just before colliding with the safety vehicle, but could not stop in time due to the ice.
No serious injuries were reported, but traffic flow was heavily affected for nearly 90 minutes.
