By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A crash in Habersham County Thursday evening involving a patrol car created slight travel delays through Alto.

A Georgia State Patrol (GSP) press release reports that the single-vehicle crash occurred on Georgia 365 by Alto Mud Creek Road just after 6:30 p.m. when a marked Habersham County patrol car with its lights activated was responding to an emergency call for service.

GSP indicated that the patrol car was trying to avoid an SUV in traffic and swerved across the travel lane and into the median of 365 when it struck the cable barrier. The patrol car then crossed the roadway and struck a metal guardrail.

The SUV was not affected by the incident. No injuries were reported.
