The Hall County Board of Commissioners Thursday voted in favor of a three-building event venue now planned for an area east of Gainesville.
The venue sits on just over 20 acres of land at 3210 Joe Parker Road, according to county documents.
While the current conditions of the zoning were placed on the property in 2008, the applicant, El Alamo Properties, LLC, was seeking to amend those conditions Thursday to adjust the architectural and material design used on the property.
No one spoke against the item during Thursday's meeting, however, several neighboring residents have previously expressed concerns about noise levels, traffic increases and the overall decision-making process for the application.
Commissioner Gregg Poole put forward the motion for approval, tacking on 10 conditions for the applicant to follow. The other members of the commission concurred with the motion.

The Hall County Planning Commission Monday voted on their recommendation in favor of a three-building event venue slated for an area east of Gainesville.
Planning Commissioner Stan Hunt placed the motion and attached some conditions to the venue as well, including that the kitchen would only be used for the venue and not as a restaurant.
The decision will now go before the Board of Commissioners for a final decision on Jan. 11.

The Hall County Planning Commission Monday will vote on their recommendation for or against a three-building event venue slated for an area east of Gainesville.
El Alamo Properties, LLC, the applicant for the facility proposal, plans to construct three different buildings on 20.19 acres of land located at 3210 Joe Parker Road, according to county documents.
Specifically, the request will go before the Planning Commission as a Use Subject to County Commission Approval to amend the current conditions of the Planned Commercial Development zoning.
The current conditions on the property were placed during a rezoning in November 2008, accompanied by a Residential Low-Density zoning at that time.
Now, the applicant plans to build three structures in two phases that will accommodate a maximum of 575 guests.
The first phase will focus on building a special events facility, while the second phase will include building two covered pavilions, each of which has plans to be constructed with a barn-style architecture.
Events hosted at the location will go no longer than 12 hours, according to the applicant’s proposal.
Planning Staff with Hall County previously recommended approval of the application, stating that the plans fall within the future land use classification found within the county’s Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning Commission will place their vote on Monday at 5:15 p.m. at the Hall County Government Center. From there, the item will go before the Board of Commissioners for a final decision on Jan. 11.
