Three people from Winder, including a teenager, were killed in a three-vehicle wreck Thursday morning on Ga. 316 in Barrow County.
The Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened at about 5 a.m. at Christmas Avenue in Bethlehem.
The agency said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Dodge Dart was traveling south on Christmas Avenue while a 2016 Peterbilt tractor-trailer and 2016 Nissan Sentra both traveled west on Ga. 316. The Peterbilt was in the right lane, while the Nissan was in the left lane.
The Dodge reportedly ran the red light at the intersection and was struck by the Peterbilt on the vehicle's left side. The Nissan was also struck during the incident.
The three occupants of the Dodge all died as a result of the collision. They were identified as Jader Artola, 37, Gonzalo Balmaceda-Garcia, 48, and Norman Tremino-Vilchez, Jr., 17, all of Winder.
The driver of the Nissan and the driver of the Peterbilt were both transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
