Forsyth County deputies warn of another phone scam attempt with residents

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Another scam alert advisory has been reported from one of the area's Sheriff's offices this week.

Forsyth County officials say that someone is calling and pretending to be a deputy from the Sheriff's Office.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office social media page posts say the scammer claims to be "Deputy Myers", and plays the, "you have a warrant for missing jury duty," scheme by demanding money over the phone.

Forsyth County officials say no one from the FCSO is going to call you and tell you if you have a warrant; they will just show up at your door.

Contact deputies behind a scam report by calling the FCSO non-emergency number at 770-781-3087, or during business hours at their main number, 770-781-2222.
