Softball: NHall, EaFo take huge 8-4A wins; EHall falls on the road

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — North Hall scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for a huge 3-2 win over Cherokee Bluff on Tuesday in Region 8-4A action.

The win moved the Lady Trojans (13-6, 7-5 Region 8-4A) within one game of fourth place. The Lady Bears (11-8-1, 8-4 Region 8-4A) dropped into a tie for fourth place with Walnut Grove with the loss.

North Hall broke a scoreless tie in the fifth on a RBI single from Marly Weaver. It stayed that way until Cherokee Bluff took the lead, 2-1, in the top of the seventh on a Emma Sundermeyer two-run home run to right.

The Lady Trojans got the tying run courtesy of a Cherokee Bluff error and then Mac Taylor scored the game-winner on a wild pitch.

Olivia Mullins got the win for North Hall allowing just two runs on five hits and striking out seven in a complete-game effort.

Catalina Baronci took the loss for Cherokee Bluff. Baronci went 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (just two earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking six.


EAST FORSYTH 8,
MADISON COUNTY 3

The Lady Broncos kept its slim lead in Region 8-4A with a big road win on Tuesday.

East Forsyth  (14-5, 11-1 Region 8-4A) led 1-0 early on a sacrifice fly but fell behind 2-1 in the second as the Lady Red Raiders  (13-8-1, 6-6 Region 8-4A) scored on a passed ball and an RBI single.

The Lady Bears, however, exploded for seven runs over the next three innings to take an 8-3 lead. Cadence Alberty then held Madison County at bay the rest of the way in the circle.

Alberty scattered eight hits and gave up three runs (two earned) in a complete game, striking out six and walking one.

Shelby Conaway and Alberty each had two hits and Alberty drove in three runs.

East Forsyth will travel to Walnut Grove on Thursday in another huge 8-4A battle.


SECKINGER 6,
EAST HALL 3

The Lady Jaguars scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to break open a tie game en route to a Region 8-4A win on Tuesday over the Lady Vikings.

East Hall’s Amari Burce had three hits and 2 stolen bases to pace the offense. Aydan Gerrin, Elvie Armour and Kaylana Curry all drove in one run for the Lady Vikings.

Burce took the loss for East Hall giving up six runs on six hits but she struck out nine for the game.

East Hall next will play host to Cedar Shoals on Thursday at East Hall Park.
