The city of Lilburn has named a new police chief.
Chris Dusik was named to the role Monday according to a social media post from the police department. He replaces Glenn Kalish, who had been serving in an interim role after the retirement of former chief Bruce Hedley.
Dusik is a Gwinnett County native who has worked with the Lilburn Police Department since 2005. He has also worked with the GBI and as a police officer in Leesburg, Florida.
“I am honored to be the next chief for the city of Lilburn,” Dusik said. “I am committed to upholding the integrity and ethics of the department and will continue to provide our citizens exceptional service. LPD will continue to ensure that crime is reduced through visible patrols, quick police response and community partnerships.”
Dusik was one of nearly a dozen candidates who applied for the job. A panel was appointed by the city to conduct the search, with help from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
