Gwinnett officials have car theft ring leader in custody

By Access WDUN Staff

Gwinnett investigators are working with other area jurisdictions behind an arrested suspect connected to hundreds of auto theft attempts in Georgia.

Sheriff's Office deputies have 22-year-old Javaris Gamble of East Point in custody from Forest Park officials as the leader in a Metro Atlanta car theft ring.

Detectives reportedly have enough evidence behind Gamble's alleged involvement with at least 30 Entering Auto and Motor Theft crimes in one case alone back on June 22nd of this year, and 400 similar illegal entries since May.

Gwinnett officials thank the collaborated efforts from the U.S. Marshal's Office, Forest Park City Police Department, and Clayton County Police Department for their efforts and resources behind the investigation.

Gamble was being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond as of Thursday morning.
