Georgia gas price average increased at the pump ahead of Labor Day.
Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.60 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
Monday's state average is 3 cents more than a week ago , 5 cents less than a month ago and 26 cents more than this time last year.
Hall County commuters are paying an average of $3.59 per gallon.
Georgia's gas price average remains lower than last years Labor Day average which which was $3.78 a gallon.
“It appears that overall gasoline demands this summer failed to match previous years, with consumption getting little “lift” from vacation travel this summer despite retail gasoline prices being below last year’s,” according to Montrae Waiters, AAA spokeswoman. “There is a lot of speculation as to why, but no one seems to know the exact cause.”
The national average held steady at $3.81 a gallon.
