Softball: EaFo, Bluff take big 8-4A wins; NoFo falls to Marist

RABBITTOWN, Ga. — Class 4A third-ranked East Forsyth remained atop the Region 8-4A standings after routing East Hall 13-1 at East Hall Park on Wednesday.

The Lady Broncos (7-3, 6-1 Region 8-4A) started fast, plating five runs in the first on a two-run single from Cadence Alberty and a three-run double from McKenna Hall. After building a 7-1 lead, East Forsyth exploded for six runs in the sixth, highlighted by an inside-the-park grand slam by Avrie Nowalk.

Cali Marshall had four hits for the Lady Broncos.

Kendall Linn got the win for East Forsyth, scattering two hits and six walks while striking out five in six innings.

Amari Burce took the loss for East Hall (5-6, 2-5 Region 8-4A). Burce surrendered 10 hits and seven runs in five innings.

Aydan Gerrin and Elvie Armour had the two East Hall hits.

East Forsyth will travel to Seckinger while East Hall heads to Walnut Grove in a pair of region games on Thursday.


CHEROKEE BLUFF 7,
MADISON COUNTY 5

Cherokee Bluff moved into a tie for fourth place in Region 8-4A after taking a thrilling win in 8 innings over Madison County on Wednesday at home.

Kate Herren provided the walk-off, blasting a two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the eighth.

The Class 3A 10th-ranked Lady Bears (6-5-1, 4-2 Region 8-4A) trailed 3-1 in the third and 4-2 in the fifth before grabbing a 5-4 lead in the fifth on a two-run single from Catalina Baronci and a RBI single from Emma Sundermeyer.

Madison County (8-3-1, 4-2 Region 8-4A) tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh.

Audrey Graham had three hits for Cherokee Bluff. Sundermeyer and Herren each had two hits and combined for five RBI for the Lady Bears.

Payton Davis went the entire way for Cherokee Bluff, giving up five runs, just three earned, on 11 hits. She walked two and struck out two.


MARIST 7,
NORTH FORSYTH 5

Despite two home runs from Lexie Durban and running out to a 4-0 lead, the Lady Raiders could not hold on for the win against the Lady War Eagles.

Marist scored four runs in the fourth to tie the game and three in sixth to pull out the victory.

Durban finished with three RBI for North Forsyth (5-6). Emma Bailey and Addison Peck each had a hit and an RBI while Trinity Bearden had two hits for the Lady Raiders.

Durban also took the loss for North Forsyth. She went six innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on 14 hits.
