BUFORD, Ga. — Sophomore Addie Rackley tossed a two-hitter to pace Buford to a 9-0 win over South Forsyth on Saturday at the Buford Softball Complex.
The Lady Wolves (6-0) exploded for five runs in the first inning to grab the quick lead. Senior Madison Pickens opened the game with a solo home run Two costly South Forsyth errors later in the inning led to four unearned runs.
Buford scored one in the third and three more in the fourth, highlighted by a solo home run from senior Mackenzie Pickens, her sixth home run of the season.
Rackley gave up a lead-off single to begin the game but then retired the next seven batters, all by strikeout, into the third. She finished the complete-game effort with a career-high nine strikeouts and walking none. No South Forsyth runner would advance past first base
Mackenzie Pickens, senior Adriana Martinez, and Rackley all had two hits for Buford.
The Lady Wolves next will travel to Cambridge (Region 6-5A) on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
