ATHENS, Ga. — Jefferson remained unbeaten and in first place in Region 8-5A after taking an 11-1 win in five innings over \Clarke Central on Thursday.
The Lady Dragons (4-1, 3-0 Region 8-5A) scored in every inning while Addison Self and Victoria Phagan combined on a no-hitter. They led 3-0 after the first inning and added two runs in the second second, three more in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to invoke the mercy rule.
Clarke Central's lone run came in the fourth on a walk, a stolen base, a passed ball, and an RBI ground out.
Audrey Burton, Jenna Rapp, Ally Baldwin, and Madison Hanchey each had two hit to lead a 12-hit attack on offense. Burton and Baldwin each knocked in two runs.
Jefferson will stay on the road heading to Loganville on Tuesday in another key region battle.
