Region 8-4A wasted little time in getting its region schedule, and path to the playoffs, under way as the entire region got going on Tuesday.

East Forsyth had the most dramatic win on the day as Cadence Alberty belted a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to beat North Hall ,1-0, at home.

Alberty was also the winning pitcher tossing a three-hit, complete-game shutout. She fanned eight.

Olivia Mullins took the tough-luck loss for the Lady Trojans, allowing just two hits while striking out eight and walking just one.

KB Seabolt, Jacey Smith, and Bre Stowers all had one hit for North Hall (1-2, 0-1 Region 8-4A).

The win kept the Lady Broncos unbeaten at 3-0, 1-0 in Region 8-4A.

Cherokee Bluff opened up with a win as the offense continued its torrid pace in a 9-1 victory over Seckinger in five innings.

Emma Sundermeyer had the big blast with a grand slam in the first inning to get things going. That was part of a seven-run opening frame. Angelina Baronci also doubled in a run in the big inning.

In the second, Catalina Baronci smacked a two-run home run.

Peyton Davis earned the win for Cherokee Bluff (2-1, 1-0 Region 8-4A) going the distance scattering six hits and striking out five.

Mac Warren and Jaycee Archer each had two hits for the Lady Bears.

East Hall did not fare as well, however, as North Oconee rolled to a 13-0 win over the Lady Vikings in three innings.

The Lady Titans (3-0, 1-0 Region 8-4A) scored twice in the first but exploded for six runs in the second and five in the third to invoke the mercy rule.

Aydan Gerrin and Kyleigh Kytle had the two lone hits for East Hall (2-1, 0-1 Region 8-4A).

Chestatee also opened its region schedule with a 21-0 loss to Madison County on Tuesday.
