Habersham County driver arrested in White County

By Access WDUN Staff

White County officials have arrested a driver from Habersham County following a weekend flee attempt from local authorities.

White County Sheriff Rick Kelley says a green Ford Ranger driven by James Hayden, 26, of Cornelia, failed to stop for deputies and fled along Duncan Bridge Road near Helen Highway last Friday at around 8:00 p.m.

Deputies eventually executed a PIT maneuver on Hayden's truck along Highway 17 near the Indian Mound in White County.

Hayden was then arrested and now faces charges of DUI, failure to maintain lane, attempting to elude law enforcement, and other charges.

No injuries were reported.
