No injuries were reported Thursday after a vehicle fire spread to a Banks County home during the early morning hours.

Firefighters were called to the Homer-area home on Hoke Caudell Road at 1:17 a.m., where they arrived to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

"Fire...had extended to the residence located nearby," said Banks County Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols. "The vehicle was a total loss and the residence had moderate fire and smoke damage after being extinguished."

Nichols said no residents were inside the home at the time of the fire.

Crews remained at the home for roughly two hours, finally clearing the scene at 3:35 a.m.

The cause of the fire was said to be accidental in nature, and no foul play is suspected.
