Hall County crash leaves 1 person dead, 4 others injured

A two-vehicle wreck Sunday evening on Poplar Springs Road in Hall County left one person dead and four others with injuries.

According to a media release from the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened at about 8 p.m. at Poplar Springs Road's intersection with Farmbrook Lane.

Quang Long Tran, 53, of Gainesville, was reportedly driving a Toyota Camry and attempting to turn left from Farmbrook Lane onto Poplar Springs Road. Tran allegedly failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and drove into the path of a Ford F-250 driven by Lizandra Franco Canales, 25, of Gainesville.

The pickup truck struck the driver's side door of the Camry.

All four people in the Camry were taken to the hospital, as well as the driver of the F-250.

Quang Long Tran died from his injuries at the hospital. The left backseat passenger of the Camry, Toan Thi Tran, 67, suffered serious injuries. The other two people in the Camry were transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
