By Christian Ashliman Anchor/Reporter

The Georgia State Patrol Friday discovered a deceased motorcyclist off Ga. 17 who had been reported missing two days prior.

At approximately 9:35 a.m. troopers with the GSP responded to reports of a single-vehicle motorcycle wreck on Ga. 17 near mile marker one in Towns County. Upon arrival, responders found a deceased male, identified as Michael Patrick Brock, 53, of Homer.

Reports indicate Brock has been traveling north on Ga. 17 when he attempted to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right shoulder of the road and down an embankment.

Brock succumbed to his injuries at the scene, officials said.

He was previously reported missing, and the GSP believes Brock crashed approximately 2 days before his body was discovered.

The incident remains under investigation by the GSP.
