No one was injured after a personal aircraft crashed Wednesday morning during takeoff at the Elbert County Airport in Elberton.
According to a social media post from Elbert County Emergency Services, the pilot was the only person onboard the plane. They were not injured.
A preliminary report from the Federal Aviation Administration showed the Cessna 150L single-engine plane was attempting to take off when it crashed at the departure end of the runway at about 9:15 a.m. No details were released regarding what led to the crash.
The social media post from Elbert County Emergency Services showed a picture of the plane upside down with its nose landing gear detached.
The plane is registered to an owner from Abbeville, South Carolina.
