Fireworks show in Lawrenceville cut short

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Safety precautions prevailed over the weekend as one city's fireworks display sustained a major issue that forced an early end to their show.

A statement on Lawrenceville's city Facebook page reports, "Due to a catastrophic equipment malfunction," the fireworks show at the Lawrenceville Lawn concluded early Friday night, June 30.

No one was hurt during the malfunction. City officials say that the events team worked diligently with the pyrotechnics company over the last several months and this week to ensure a successful show.

City officials say they are working with the pyrotechnics company to discuss possible rescheduling or combination with a future Lawrenceville event.
