The annual Beach Bash event at Lake Lanier Olympic Park is set for July 14, featuring a kid's beach zone where over 100 tons of sand will be trucked in.
This year’s annual Beach Bash event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and host a range of events, including live music from Lori Hall and The Soul Shakers. There will also be hula hooping and limbo contests and food trucks on-site to provide “unique and tasty flavors” for event-goers to enjoy, according to Explore Gainesville officials.
New to this year’s beach-themed celebration is the chance to acquire one of 12 different postcards from the 2023 Gainesville Postcard Series. Dubbed “From Gainesville, With Love,” the collection includes different postcards, with new renditions released at scheduled events throughout the year.
The Beach Bash postcard will be the eighth release in the series.
Parking for the Beach Bash will take place at three different sites, the first of which will be the lots around Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Should those spaces fill up, attendees can park at Riverbend Church at 1715 Cleveland Highway or at Gainesville Middle School East Campus located at 1581 Community Way.
A shuttle will be available to transport people to and from off-site parking from 4:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. The shuttles are said to be handicap accessible. Pets will not be allowed on the shuttles, however, leashed pets will be allowed at the event itself.
For those arriving by boat, there will be 15 courtesy dock spots available for pick and drop-off.
Table reservations are also available in the Grandstand area of the park for $60, which will give attendees an 8-foot table with seating for six people.
Beach Bash will kick off Friday, July 14, at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, which is located at 3105 Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville.
