Forsyth County administrators have named Scott Adams as the next director of the county's Water and Sewer Department.
He is replacing former director Barry Lucas who was appointed to Assistant County Manager in March.
Adams brings 29 years of experience in consulting engineering practice, specifically focused on water and wastewater infrastructure, and has worked with the County in a consulting capacity since 1994.
A release from Forsyth County government says that since 2010, Adams has worked as a consulting engineer for Brown and Caldwell where he led the infrastructure group in the Atlanta office, managing a team responsible for project delivery for utility clients across the southeast including Forsyth County.
Adams is an active member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) and has chaired the Small Systems Committee, Wastewater Treatment Committee and the Georgia Water Environment Federation and is currently serving on the national level as a Water Environment Federation Delegate for Georgia.
Adams also is a Professional Engineer licensed in multiple states, a certified practitioner with the Design Build Institute of America and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University
