PHILADELPHIA — Former North Hall standout Reese Olson turned in another solid outing in his second-ever Major League start on Thursday.
The Detroit Tigers right-hander went five innings scattering three hits and one walk while allowing just one run. He fanned three and lowered his ERA 2.70 over the two starts.
However, he once was replaced after the sixth inning trailing 1-0 to the Philadelphia Phillies as the Tigers offense has failed to score a run in either of his first two appearances.
Olson is scheduled to get at least one more start next week for the Tigers, who called up Olson last week from their AAA-affiliate Toledo Mud Hens.
