Authorities arrested a Gainesville man Tuesday following allegations that he committed sexual crimes against an underage girl.
According to Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Holbrook, Felipe Gomez-Gomez, 23, was charged with child molestation and statutory rape.
Holbrook said Gomez is accused of committing the crimes against the teenage girl in January at a home in the 800 block of Johnson Street.
Police first learned of the alleged crimes after a family member of the victim reported the incident to police.
Gomez and the victim knew each other prior to the alleged crimes.
Gomez remained in the Hall County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
