The Lawrenceville Police Department is asking the public to help them find a suspect who allegedly shot a man who was riding a moped on the city's south side late last Friday.

In a release, police department officials said the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on May 12 near the intersection of Five Forks Trickum Road and Old Snellville Highway. The victim, a 54-year-old man whose name has not been released, was reportedly riding the moped home when someone shot him multiple times.

Police found the man lying in the street. He was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon's release.

Authorities did not provide a description of the suspect, but they said anyone who has any information on the case is asked to contact Lawrenceville Police detectives by calling 770-670-5122. The public can also submit information via Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta by calling 404-577-8477 or visiting their website.
