Fires in Flowery Branch destroy two neighboring homes

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Fires destroyed two homes in a Flowery Branch neighborhood Friday evening, according to Hall County's Fire and Rescue officials.

In a release, fire officials said crews were dispatched to Ashmoore Court just after 8:30 p.m. for reports of a residential fire.

Upon arrival, the crew found a fully involved, small two-story home with two exposures. Firefighters then deployed a ladder to attack the bulk of the fire.

The release says that as crews fought the fire in the main residence, the flames began to spread into the attic of the second home that was about 15 feet away. The fire was eventually extinguished in both of the structures.

Due to the proximity of the houses the flames spread quickly which resulted in both structures being a total loss. A third residence had superficial damage on the right wall. All three homes were searched and no one was found inside.

There were no reports of any injuries on the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
