Drew Benfield bags Lavonia Limited Late Model victory

Drew Benfield held off Chris Woods to take the Limited Late Model victory at Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway on Friday night.

Benfield, who hails from nearby Toccoa, Georgia, charged from the fourth starting spot, taking the lead and racing to the win at the 3/8-mile clay raceway.

Parris Simmons came home in third, followed by Mason Tucker in fourth, and Logan Stinchcomb in fifth.

Austin Reed, Bubba Russell, Jimmy Mason, Brandon Haley, and Austin Fox rounded out the top 10.

In other action, Chris Woods bettered his second place run in the Limited Late Model feature by scoring the win in the 602 Late Model feature. Adam Partain followed in second, wihit John Harrison in third, Chris Ausburn in fourth, and Monk Gulledge in fifth.

Evan Brown edged out Johnny Pilgrim for the Modified Street feature win. Bill Pulliam finished third, with Jerry Speed fourth, and Rex Hambrick fifth.

Grayson Wells was the winner in the Open Wheel Modified feature, with Josh Thurmond in second, Keith Baker in third, Shane Strickland in fourth, and James Campbell in fifth.

Jimmy Johnson topped the Stock 8 field for the feature victory. Drew Griffith followed in second, with Anthony Stephens in third, David Brown in fourth, and Eric Dove in fifth.

Matt Gilbert was first across the finish line to win the Stock 4 feature. Elliott Brayboy finished second, with by Cameron Fowler third, and Arron Cronic fouth.

Hunter Carey took the win in the Young Guns feature. Aiden White, Brayden Long, Daniel Marchman, and Brantley Bales rounded out the top five.

Joel Cabe took the checkered flag first for the Front Wheel Drive feature win, with Danny Anthony in second, Andrew Smith in third, Peter Comeau in fourth, and Tyler Bridges in fifth.

Bobby Terry was the winner in the Enduro feature. Adam Rouse came home in second, with Michael Davis in third, Bobby Terry, Sr. in fourth, and Josh Nix in fifth.
