KENNESAW, Ga. — East Forsyth rallied from six runs down to beat Holy Innocents’ 8-6 on Monday in Game 3 of their best-of-three series in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.
Holy Innocents’ had stormed out to a 6-0 lead with a five-run second inning, powered by a grand slam from Chandler Ketchup, and a run in the fourth.
But the Broncos got going in the fifth. They scored four runs on RBI singles from Mathew Lyons and Wyatt Barden to trim the lead to 6-4.
Logan Pedretti provided the big blow in the sixth with a grand slam for the lead.
Jackson Weir earned the victory in relief for East Forsyth. The righthander surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Barden got the save pitching two scoreless innings to close out the win and the series.
