GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The Lakeview Academy soccer teams closed out their regular seasons with solid shutout victories on Wednesday.
The Lakeview boys beat Loganville Christian Academy, 3-0, while the Lady Lions knocked off the Loganville Christian girls by the same 3-0 score.
For the boys, the win completed a perfect GIAA AAA/AAAA District 4 region schedule and pushed their win streak to nine straight. The Lions (11-4-1 overall, 8-0 GIAA AAA/AAAA District 4) outscored their opponents 36-9 in the region.
Against Loganville on Wednesday, Lakeview outshot Loganville 33-5 and junior William Harrison recorded the shutout in goal.
Junior Bryan Ramsey had two goals, one assisted by Jay Dave. Ramsey’s first goal was a rip from outside the box and for his second goal, he beat the keeper with a slotted ball off of his right foot.
Senior Liam Weidner scored on a perfect through ball over the top of the defense from freshman Frisco Johnson.
For the Lady Lions, qualified for their eighth straight trip to the postseason, the first in GIAA with the victory.
Kendall Mathis, Bianca Collins, and Addi Graham each scored for the Lady Lions. Annie Nivens and Jalyn Purdy each had one assist.
The defense limited Loganville Christian to just 3 shots for the game. Keeper Amelia Corbin recorded her second shutout of the season in goal.
