MONROE, Ga. — The Jefferson boys golf team finished fourth in the Area 4-5A tournament at Providence Golf Club on Monday.
The top-4 finish advances them to the Class 5A sectionals at Okefenokee Golf Club in Blackshear, Ga., next month.
Junior Tripp Dye turned in a 3-over par 75 to lead the Dragons, Welton Wall finished with an 83, and Tristan Chappetta and Dhruv Patel both turned in an 86.
Dye finished four strokes off champion Sam Harper from Eastside.
Meanwhile, Flowery Branch sophomore Landon Mealor turned in a 7-over 79. Branch finished ninth overall.
