GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Gainesville baseball coach Adam Miller is changing roles.
The 20-year Gainesville coaching veteran has resigned as head baseball coach to become assistant athletic director. Gainesville AD Adam Lindsey made the announcement Monday morning. Miller has spent the last five seasons as Big Red's head baseball coach.
“I will certainly miss the day-to-day interactions with the players, and of course game days, specifically at Ivey Watson,” Miller said, “but I’m also excited for a new adventure at Gainesville High School and the opportunity to be around all our Red Elephant student-athletes.”
Miller, who began at GHS in 2003 after three years as assistant baseball coach at Dublin High School, was an assistant football coach from 2003-2009, head cross country coach from 2010-2018, and transitioned from baseball assistant to head coach in 2018 after 15 years as pitching coach.
“We are so thankful for his years of dedication to coaching at Gainesville, especially in baseball,” said Gainesville City Schools Athletic Director Adam Lindsey. “Personally and professionally, however, I am very excited to have him in this new role and watch him grow our student-athletes and athletic department in this capacity.”
A search for Gainesville High School’s new baseball coach is underway.
