Motorcyclist hospitalized after Cornelia crash

A man is hospitalized with authorities say are serious injuries after a crash on Chase Road in Cornelia Sunday afternoon.

A report from the Georgia State Patrol said Christoph Gneiding, age 30 of Cornelia, was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle on Chase Road when an oncoming GMC Sierra driven by Jacob Lee, age 27 of Cleveland, turned in front of him while trying to turn onto Keller Road. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Gneiding was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with serious injuries. No one in the Sierra was injured.

The Georgia State Patrol says charges are pending in the accident.

A release from the Habersham County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. and Chase Road was shut down until 6:15 p.m.
