The Gwinnett Police Accident Investigations Unit is searching for the driver of a 2016 – 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe who hit a pedestrian Monday, March 27, and left him on the side of the road in critical condition.

Officers responded to a call around 8:45 am of an alleged hit-and-run off Kilcrease Road and Silver Oak Drive in Lawrenceville. When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Bea Moua, of Dacula, injured and lying in a ditch, according to Gwinnett County Public Information Officer Hideshi Valle.

“It is unknown how long the victim was laying out there prior to the accident; however, investigators believe it was a Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle that hit him while walking on Kilcrease Road,” Valle said. “The driver obviously failed to stop, but parts of the vehicle were found.”

After Moua was discovered in the ditch, he was transported to a local area hospital where he remained in critical condition at last report, Valle said.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact GCPD investigators by email  or by phone at 678-442-5653.

To remain anonymous, tipsters may contact Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit Crime Stoppers online. Crime Stoppers tipsters  may receive a cash reward for information leading to an arrest of indictment in the case. Case number: 23-0023567
