HOSCHTON, Ga. — Cherokee Bluff clinched a home playoff game with a 10-0 shutout of Seckinger on Tuesday in Region 8-4A action.
The defense once again, anchored by keeper Avery Fowler, was stellar, recording their 10th shutout of the season for the Class 4A third-ranked Lady Bears (14-2, 8-1 Region 8-4A). It was the 15th match they have allowed one goal or less.
Bluff will close out its regular season on Friday against Cedar Shoals in Athens. The Georgia High School Association playoffs are set to begin on April 13.
Against Seckinger, Kaitlin Cook continued her assault on opposing defenses notching 4 goals on the night, giving her 97 for her career. Amelia Dovie had a hat trick and added an assist for Cherokee Bluff.
Alyssa Stringer had a goal and 3 assists, Genesis Gamez had a goal and 2 assists, and Anna Gessner added a goal and an assist. Eva Martin, Carson DeMars, and Ellie Sutulovich all registered one assist for the Lady Bears.
