Everyone evacuated safely Saturday afternoon following reports of a commercial fire at the Home Depot location on Spout Springs Road in Flowery Branch.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Hall County Fire Rescue responded to reports of a commercial fire. According to a release, the bulk of the fire was contained to a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit on the roof of the Home Depot. Responding firefighters said there was a large column of smoke billowing from the HVAC unit once they arrived on the scene.

Officials report all employees and customers were immediately evacuated once the fire broke out. HCFR crews combatted the fire from outside the building, extinguishing it in under 30 minutes from when the call initially went out.

A separate responding crew entered the Home Depot location and ensured the fire did not extend to the interior.

As of 3:00 p.m. Saturday, units were still on scene ventilating the structure. The Flowery Branch Police Department assisted with traffic and crowd control.

According to officials, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
