OAKWOOD, Ga. — Class 4A No. 1-ranked Johnson clinched a playoff spot with a dominating 8-0 win over Walnut Grove on Thursday in Region 8-4A action at The Dungeon.
The Knights (14-0, 8-0 Region 8-4A) got goals from six different players as they tied their season-high in goals in a game. It also was their 10th shutout victory of the season.
Senior Jorge Sandoval recorded a hat trick to pace the offense. Josue Mendoza, Edgar Vazquez, Juan Jacinto, Andy Robles and Juliann Pimentel all tallied one goal for the Knights.
Vazquez added 3 assists, Robles had 2 assists, and Daniel Trujillo and Pimentel had one each for Johnson.
The Knights next will host to North Oconee on Tuesday with a chance to secure a home playoff game and no worse than second in the region.
