New Whataburger restaurant opens in Buford

By AccessWDUN Staff

Whataburger opened its newest location in Georgia Thursday near the Mall of Georgia in Buford.

According to a press release from Whataburger, the new location at 2925 Buford Drive, near Interstate 85, is now open for drive-thru service only.

The new location is the third in the Atlanta market, following other recent openings in Kennesaw and Woodstock.

While the location is only open for drive-thru service as of Thursday, it will soon offer inside dining and online curbside orders. Guests are asked to enter the drive-thru lane by turning onto Laurel Crossing Parkway from Buford Drive. The location is paying for private security and Gwinnett County Police Department presence to help direct traffic upon its opening.

“We are so appreciative of the warm welcome we have received from the community and encourage locals to pay a visit to their new hometown restaurant for our extensive menu of bold flavors,” said Operating Partner Willette Stephens, who will oversee the restaurant. “For those that have never tried Whataburger before, we suggest starting with the #1 namesake burger. It’s prepared on a large, five-inch bun with a fresh 100% beef patty, with tomato, lettuce, pickles, diced onions and mustard. Of course, all menu items can be made to order, just like you like it!”

Whataburger previously announced it would bring more than 50 restaurants to the Atlanta area over the next five years, including to the following locations in northeast Georgia:

  • 503 Lakeland Plaza, Cumming, Ga. 30040
  • 15 Wallace Blvd, Dawsonville, Ga. 30534
  • 3201 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, Ga. 30606

Whataburger is open 24/7, 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day), with breakfast served from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.
