Gwinnett County Police ask for help locating vehicle in hit and run

By Sydney Hencil Anchor/Reporter
The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking for the public's help locating a vehicle and its driver who hit a cyclist in January off North Price Road in Suwanee.

The hit and run happened Jan. 28 on North Price Road near Woodward Mill Road, according to a Facebook post by Gwinnett County Police Monday.

According to officials, the driver of the vehicle turned directly in front of a group of cyclists when one of the riders was struck by the vehicle.

"Fortunately, the rider wasn't seriously hurt," officials said in the post.

The vehicle is shown to be a gray four-door sedan, possibly a Honda Civic.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Accident Investigation Unit's anonymous tipline at 678-442-5653.

"Drivers and cyclists must share the road," the post read. "Remember, give cyclists three feet of space as you pass while driving."

Officials remind cyclists to ride as close to the right side of the road as possible, and no more than two cyclists should ride side-by-side.
