Habersham County officials ask residents for old American flags

By Sydney Hencil Anchor/Reporter
Habersham County officials are encouraging the public to evaluate the condition of their American flags and to retire any ripped, faded, or stained flags.

Residents can drop off their flags in the red, white and blue flag retirement box in the lobby of the Habersham County Administration Building on 130 Jacob’s Way in Clarkesville. The flag retirement box was built by Eagle Scout Joseph McNair and is maintained by Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720 in Cornelia.

Habersham County officials first asked the public for their flags on Presidents Day.
