Forsyth County Education Foundation to host annual Duck Dive fundraiser

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

The Forsyth County Education Foundation will soon host its annual Duck Dive, a fundraiser that sends 100% of its proceeds to schools in need.

The Duck Dive is a raffle in which members of the community pay $10 to “adopt” a rubber duck for the chance to win $10,000. Each duck is numbered, and each adoption will be assigned a number. All the ducks are placed in a massive pool on March 31 at 1 p.m. and one person "dives" in to select a $10,000 winner.

Participants can adopt a duck using one of three methods:

1. Use mypaymentsplus.com, select Events and Activities, then FC Education Foundation Duck Dive

2. Via Paypal, select the Donate Now button here.  Be sure to include your school’s name in the notes section if it applies.

3. Fill out this form and return it to 1120 Dahlonega Highway Cumming, GA 30040.

The deadline to adopt a duck is March 24th. Those who choose to adopt a duck are able to adopt more than one.

According to the Education Foundation, the proceeds help the organization give grants to schools in the county to meet more educational needs.  In 2022, the foundation was able to give schools 30 grants. With the proceeds, schools were able to buy new instruments for music rooms, fund STEAM activities,  and buy other necessary materials for students’ enrichment.

On the day of the drawing, participants can tune in to the Duck Dive here to see if they are the lucky winner. The foundation says you do not have to be present or watching to win; winners will be contacted afterward.
