Forsyth County Fire Department promotes 25 personnel at annual ceremony

The Forsyth County Fire Department on Saturday hosted its annual recognition ceremony where various awards were presented and 25 personnel were promoted. 

On the day of the event, friends, family, and Forsyth County Fire Department personnel gathered at Local Church Forsyth to celebrate the accomplishments of those who work within the department. 

According to a press release, the first portion of the ceremony was dedicated to presenting recognition awards. Life-Saved Awards were presented to Fire Department personnel in recognition of their outstanding actions when a life-threatening situation occurred. Unit Citation Awards were also given to personnel as well as a recognition for the recent Don Hendricks award given to the Fire Department during Forsyth County Schools’ Teacher of the Year ceremony. 

During the promotional portion of the event, 25 department members were formally promoted to their new positions of battalion chief, captain, lieutenant, fire apparatus operator, senior fire inspector and senior fire prevention training officer.

“It is always a special honor to recognize our personnel who have reached levels of achievement in their career,” Fire Chief Barry Head, said. “I am proud to work beside all of the men and women that serve in the Forsyth County Fire Department; their service and dedication have my highest appreciation.”
