STATE FINALS NEED-TO-KNOW: Banks Co. girls take on Mt. Paran for 2A crown

By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

Banks County will take on Mount Paran on Thursday at the Macon Coliseum for the Class 2A state title. If things live up to expectations, it’s matching two of the top three teams and the two best defensive squads in the classification.

Neither team has lost in the 2023 calendar year and has won 40 straight games combined. However, it is the first-ever state championship game appearance for Banks Count, while the Lady Eagles won the Class A Private title in 2022.

Will experience rule the day, or will the Lady Leopards continue to make history? We should know by 3 p.m.
