GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Kaleb Sexton tossed a complete game to lead North Hall to a 7-3 Region 8-4A win over Madison County on Friday at Cottrell Field.
It was a needed win for the Trojans (8-2, 1-1 Region 8-4A) after dropping their region-opener to Walnut Grove on Wednesday.
Sexton scattered seven hits and gave up three runs while striking out seven in the win.
North Hall took advantage of several early miscues by Madison County. The Trojans plated three runs on a Red Raider error in the first and got two more in the second on a wild pitch and a passed ball. They made it 6-0 in the third on a RBI single from Korbyn Sosebee.
Madison County (1-8-1, 0-2 Region 8-4A) pulled within 6-3 in the fourth on RBI doubles from Tristan Poss and Blake Ledford.
North Hall Varsity Trojans opened up scoring in the first inning. Mills Lothridge singled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.
Conner Smith took the loss for Madison County lasting six innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out four.
Charlie Wright, Jon Jon Read, and Andrew Bales all had two hits for North Hall.
The Trojans are off until traveling to Cedar Shoals on Wednesday.
