GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Chestatee opened its Region 8-4A schedule with a 6-1 win over Madison County on Tuesday at the Lynn Cottrell Complex.
Joshua Bull tripled in a pair of runs in the first inning to jumpstart the offense in what would become a 13-hit attack on the day.
Brock Moody took it from going six innings allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out four to get the win for the War Eagles (5-3, 1-0 Region 8-4A).
Griffin Morris started for Madison County lasting just 1 2/3 innings giving up three runs on six hits.
Dylan Thompson and Bull both had three hits to lead the Chestatee offense.
Chestatee next will travel to No. 1 North Oconee on Friday in more region action.

The Lightning avenged an earlier loss to Pinecrest Academy behind a no-hitter from Gavin Strabala, who also struck out 10.
LCA was paced at the plate by Jayce Harrison, who had three hits, and Camden Hohman, who had two hits, including a 3-run home run. Drew Kalinauskas also had two hits as every starter had at least one hit for the Lightning.
The Lightning stuck quickly with two runs in the bottom of the first and added two more in the third. LCA blew it open with a five-run fourth.
Carter Raulerson, Isaac Dinn, Joshua Waymack, and Strabala all knocked in runs for LCA.
LCA next will travel Young American Christian School on Thursday.
