HOSCHTON, Ga. — Class 4A No. 1-ranked Johnson got another outstanding defensive performance in a 3-0 win over Seckinger on the road in Region 8-4A action Tuesday night.
It was the fifth consecutive shutout for the Knights (8-0, 3-0 Region 8-4A) who have allowed three total goals on the season.
However, the game was tight until late in the first half. Daniel Trujillo broke the scoreless tie in the 33rd minute when he scored off a beautiful through ball from Justin Silva.
David Arteaga gave them a 2-0 lead in the final moments of the half after Jalil Chavez collected a rebound from the Jaguars keeper and played it back to Arteaga, who found the net.
Jorge Sandoval capped the scoring with a goal in the 60th minute dribbling past two defenders and beating the keeper on the right.
Johnson next will travel to Cedar Shoals on Tuesday in a Region 8-4A showdown.
