Baseball: Buford, NHall on the road, GHS at home to highlight light schedule

By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

Buford will take a defending state champion for the second consecutive game on Monday to highlight a brief schedule for area teams.

The Wolves (2-2) will travel to Loganville, the defending Class 5A state champion. They knocked off 7A champion Woodstock on Friday at home. It is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. The Red Devils beat Buford 6-2 last week at Gerald McQuaig Field.

North Hall and Jefferson, a pair of new-look teams, will tangle in Jefferson. The Trojans are a perfect 7-0 on the young season. The Dragons (4-3) are 0-2 against Region 8-4A teams so far this season (Walnut Grove and Seckinger).

Another 8-4A team, Cherokee Bluff (5-0), will play host to Region 7-3A's White County. The Bears' offense has been potent in the early going. They are averaging 10 runs/game, including a 13-1 rout of Gilmer, another 7-3A team, last week.

Gainesville will play host to West Hall at Ivey-Watson. The Red Elephants (4-4) have won two straight while the Spartans (0-4) are still looking for their first win.
