Man arrested after pointing gun at mother, sister, child in Flowery Branch

A man was arrested in Flowery Branch Thursday after he reportedly pointed a gun at his mother, adult sister and child, and allegedly committed several other crimes during a domestic dispute.

According to a press release from the Flowery Branch Police Department, Jamario Fryer, 34, of Flowery Branch, allegedly engaged in a domestic dispute with his mother and sister while at a home in the 4700 block of Beacon Ridge Lane. All four lived at the home where the incident occured.

During the dispute, Fryer allegedly pointed a handgun at his sister and fired the weapon, but the shot missed. The sister was uninjured. Fryer then approached his mother, kicked her on the side while she was on the floor, then pointed the firearm at her head and demanded keys to her vehicle. Fryer did obtain the keys.

He also pointed a firearm at a child during the incident.

The two female victims and the child managed to escape from the residence and were able to flag down a passing driver, who took them to the Flowery Branch Police Department. 

Flowery Branch Police Officers then responded to the home and contacted Fryer while he was in the victim's vehicle.

Fryer was arrested and the firearm was recovered.

He faces the following charges:

  • Armed robbery
  • Three counts of aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act
  • First degree cruelty to children
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes
  • Battery under the Family Violence Act
