Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful earns Best of Gwinnett

By Sydney Hencil Anchor/Reporter
Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful has been honored as the Best of Gwinnett in the Charitable Organization category for the fifth year in a row.

The winners of Best of Gwinnett are chosen by a combination of readers’ votes and editors’ input.

“We are truly grateful to Guide to Gwinnett for providing this platform, and to each and every person who cast a vote in our favor,” Executive Director for Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful, Schelly Marlatt said in a press release.

The Best of Gwinnett process begins each March, spanning more than 20 broad business and community sectors, with a nomination on the award program website.  Voting ends on December 31.

Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful was the only environmentally focused nonprofit on the list of local charities.

Since 1980, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful has built a network of over 100,000 Gwinnettians to aid in its environmental stewardship efforts throughout the county. The organization regularly engages citizens to reduce, reuse, and recycle; protect watersheds; pursue sustainable practices at home, school, and work; and clean, restore, and beautify public places.

“Although we’ve been in the business of creating cleaner, greener, more livable communities throughout the county for more than 40 years, there is always more work to be done,” Marlatt said in a press release.  “We deeply value our many supporters and love our role of fostering an up-and-coming generation of environmental stewards through our Green & Healthy Schools program and Green Youth Advisory Council.”
