A busy night on the pitch Tuesday could also be an important one for several Northeast Georgia-area programs as they begin region play across the various Georgia High School Association classifications.
Gainesville will open its Region 8-6A schedules with two huge matches in Hoschton against Jackson County. Commerce and Rabun County will begin their schedules in Tiger. Chestatee and Seckinger will open Region 8-4A with a battle at The Lynn Cottrell Complex in Sardis.
As for some other marquee matchups not involving region play, the Class 7A No. 1 Buford girls will travel to Peachtree Ridge, while the Class 4A No. 2 Johnson boys will take on West Hall in Oakwood in a Copa 985 league match.
