ATHENS, Ga. — Riley Black poured in a career-high and school-record 40 points to lead the Chestatee girls to a 57-40 win over Cedar Shoals on Tuesday in both teams’ regular-season finales.
Black scored 21 in the first half as the Lady War Eagles (18-7) led 24-13 at the break. Chestatee outscored the Lady Jaguars 33-27 in the second half.
Addison Boyd added 9 points for Chestatee.
The two teams meet again in the first round of the Region 8-4A Tournament next week.

North Forsyth closed its regular season with a dominating win on the road Tuesday night.
It was the eighth straight win for the Lady Raiders (19-6, 11-1 Region 8-6A), who already have clinched a state playoff berth. They will take the No. 1 seed into next week’s Region 8-6A Tournament.
North Forsyth started fast, using a 17-3 first-quarter run behind 8 points from Erin Whalen to take control early. The Lady Raiders blew it open with a 23-7 second-quarter explosion for a 40-10 halftime lead. They took a 57-20 lead into the fourth quarter.
Whalen finished with 10 points, but London Weaver led the way with 12 points for North Forsyth. Abby Tarver added 11, and Addison Peck, Emma Rose, and Kamryn Gardner each had 8 points for the Lady Raiders.
Desiree Trudell led Apalachee (5-19, 0-11 Region 8-6A) with 7 points.

The Lady Bears built a big 18-4 lead in the first quarter and then cruised to the win in their regular-season finale.
Mia Williams had a huge game with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks to pace Bluff. Claire Carlson added 10 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals, while Emma Reynolds and Carson Demars each had 9 points for the Lady Bears.

The Lady Falcons used a 19-0 second quarter to grab the lead and held on in the fourth quarter to clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Region 8-5A Tournament.
Bella Brick led the way, pouring in 11 of her 24 points in the second quarter. She also helped seal the win by going 5-of-5 from the free throw line in the fourth.
Branch (14-1, 7-5 Region 8-5A) trailed 12-8 after the opening period but used the big second quarter to take a 27-12 halftime lead. The Lady Patriots cut into the lead in the third quarter behind Jaliyah Weeks, who poured in 25 of her game-high 33 in the second half. But they could not get closer than the final score.

Keke Jones scored 17 points and Kedria Young had 15 to lead a quartet of double-digit scorers in the blowout win over Jackson County on the road Tuesday.
Zaria Williams and Julia Payne added 11 points each.
Gainesville (20-3, 8-3 Region 8-6A) had control by the end of the first quarter and led 44-16 by half time.
Jones scored eight of her 17 points in the third quarter to help the Lady Red Elephants to extend their lead, 66-21, at the end of the third.
Lydia Wolfe and Chandler Blake scored 6 points each to lead Jackson County (6-18, 2-9 Region 8-6A)
Gainesville and Habersham Central are tied for the No. 2 seed in next week's Region 8-6A tournament. If both win on Friday, a tiebreaker will be needed to declare the No. 2 seed, which gets an automatic berth to the Class 6A state tournament.

Maleah Harrison scored 19 points to lead the Lady Vikings (9-16, 5-9 Region 8-4A North) to the upset win at North Oconee on Tuesday.
Amari Burce had 15, Haley Barton netted 13, and Callie Dale chipped in 12.

Taliah Gaither and Dynesty Putman combined for 27 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Lions' rally past George Walton Academy on the road Tuesday.
Gaither poured in 14 points and six boards, while Putman added 13 points and eight rebounds. Kivana Bogne had 12 points and led the team in rebounds with nine, and Sidney Corbin chipped in 11 points.
The Lady Lions were down by seven points at halftime, 28-21, but outscored George Walton 33-14 in the second half to win the game.
