AAA enacts its "Tow to Go" program for Christmas and New Year's Day travelers

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

AAA is working to keep impaired drivers off the road this holiday season.

The national roadside safety provider has announced the activation of their, "Tow to Go" program, beginning Friday night, December 22. The Auto Club Group will activate its  program in Georgia and other select states through Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

“If you’re faced with the decision of driving impaired, put down those keys and pick up the phone to call Tow to Go,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA. Officials will dispatch a truck to take you and your vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius of the call.

AAA reminds commuters that this service is free and available to members and non-members of AAA, with a confidential local ride for one person and their vehicle.

Appointments are NOT scheduled in advance, as "Tow to Go" is a safety net, not a designated driver program.

For more information, you can call AAA at  (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246.  You can also go online at AAA.com for additional details.

"Tow to Go" will be activated in portions of Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida and several more states nationwide.
